Man kills wife and cousin

LARKANA, May 11: A man killed his wife and cousin in an area under Drigh police station of Qambar district on Thursday. The alleged killer, Badaruddin Chandio, a resident of ‘Ghulam Hussain Chandio Village in Karohar Jagir, shot dead his wife Siyani and cousin Wassand Chandio and fled from the village. The double murder is believed to be another case of ‘Karo-Kari’.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Murad Chandio, father of the deceased Wassand, lodged an FIR against Badaruddin in which he contested the allegation of ‘karo kari’ and said that both the murdered man and woman were innocent. Police have begun probe.

NAZIM: The Taluka nazim of Dokri, Shafqaut Hussain Unnar, narrowly escaped indiscriminate firing by armed highwaymen near Haider Brohi Village on the outskirts of Larkana. Unknown armed men opened firing at Shafquat Unnar’s vehicle while he was on his way to home late on Wednesday night.

He miraculously escaped when he sped away the car. Later the footprints of the alleged attackers were traced with the help of Bakrani police, area people and sniffing dogs, sources said and the police picked up around eight suspects from Sangi village located in the jurisdiction of Bakrani police station.

ANTI-NARCOTIC: The District government Larkana on Thursday constituted Anti-narcotics committee under the chairmanship of the district nazim Mohammad Bakhsh Arijo.

The District Coordination Officer

(DCO) Larkana, Mohammad Naseer Jamali, will be the secretary of the committee, while DPO and the EDO Revenue of Larkana, representative of the Rangers and Anti-Narcotics Force will be its members.
