Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has told state television that he is not prepared for talks with anyone while Israeli attacks continue, ahead of a scheduled meeting with European counterparts in Geneva, Al Jazeera reports.

“The Americans have repeatedly sent messages calling seriously for negotiations. But we have made clear that as long as the aggression does not stop, there will be no place for diplomacy and dialogue,” AFP quoted the top diplomat as saying.

Araghchi added that “after our resistance against Israel, I think countries will distance themselves from this aggression”.

Araghchi has arrived in Geneva for a meeting — the first major diplomatic effort since the war began — with the foreign ministers of France, Germany and the UK, who are seeking to create a pathway back to diplomacy to de-escalate the conflict over Iran’s nuclear programme.
