KARACHI: Parts of city received light showers on Monday evening, partially breaking the cycle of persistent heat gripping the metropolis for several days.
The areas where rain was reported included Malir, Superhighway, Gadap, Gulshan-i-Maymar, Surjani Town and New Karachi.
According to the Met Office, city’s maximum temperature on Monday was 40 degrees Celsius. Relative humidity remained above 55 perc ent most part of the day.
In its daily advisory, the Met department has forecast partly cloudy and humid weather with isolated dust-thunderstorms/rain on city’s outskirts on Tuesday (today) with maximum temperature ranging between 36°C and 38°C.
On Monday, Jacobabad was the hottest place in the province with 46°C as maximum temperature followed by Dadu (45°C) and Mohenjo Daro (44.5°C).
