KARACHI: The city is expected to receive light to moderate rain on Monday, accompanied by a dust storm, Dawn.com reported on Sunday.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and moist currents also penetrating in eastern parts of the province.

Cloudy, but hot and humid weather with temperatures ranging from 36-38 degrees Celsius is expected to persist throughout the metropolis on Monday (today). Humidity levels are expected to touch 70-80 per cent in the morning.

“Dust-thunderstorm /rain likely in Karachi division on Monday and isolated places on outskirts of Karachi division on Tuesday (tomorrow),” the PMD weather advisory read.

Under the influence of this system, rain accompanied by dust thunderstorm at isolated places is expected in Ghotki, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Qamber Shahdadkot, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Dadu, Naushahro Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, T.M. Khan, Tando Allahyar, Hyderabad, Matiari, Thatta, Sujawal, Badin and Jamshoro districts

The Met Office predicts light to moderate rainfall accompanied by dust thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday.
