SWAT: A brotherand an uncle were arrested in the honour killing case of a woman here on Saturday, the police said.

Rahimabad police said a woman informed them that her daughter had been married about nine years ago. However, she said due to constant disputes between the couple, her husband divorced her.

The police said the woman returned to her mother’s home, where her brother, Aleem Khan, kept her at her uncle Shah Mahmood’s house due to the family’s honour.

After some time, when the mother went to meet her daughter, her son and brother-in-law told her that they had married her off to an Afghan man, who had taken her to Afghanistan.

However, after an investigation, the police arrested the deceased woman’s brother and uncle.

During interrogation, they confessed to killing her and burying her body in a local graveyard without a shroud or funeral. The police registered a case against them.

In a separate incident, two children died after the roof of a mud house collapsed in the Sangar area of Manglawar.

The Manglawar police said the family was asleep at night when the roof of a room collapsed, killing 12-year-old Reema and nine-year-old Mustafa.

Locals rushed to the house after the incident and pulled out the children’s bodies from the rubble.
