LAKKI MARWAT: A man and his wife were killed inside their house over a petty issue in the Shahbaz Azmatkhel area of Bannu district on Sunday.

Police said that the double murder occurred in the area limits of Miryakhel police station. They said that the suspected killer escaped the crime scene after the incident.

Tufail Khan, 31, who was injured in the attack, told police that his brother, Umair got furious over a petty issue and opened fire on the inmates with an assault rifle, injuring him (Tufail), his brother Sohail Khan, 29, and his wife Aasia Bibi, 26.

He said that Sohail and his wife succumbed to injuries on the spot. The police said that the bodies and injured were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital.

The bodies were later handed over to relatives for burial after completing medico-legal formalities.

The police are investigating the double murder after registering a case against the killer under relevant sections of law.
