BAHAWALPUR: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claimed on Saturday to have arrested three suspects allegedly involved in human smuggling and bank fraud.

According to FIA officials, Muhammad Imran and Muhammad Saeed received a sum of Rs2.3 million and Rs5.7 million, respectively from the complainants to send them to Saudi Arabia and provide them with jobs there. But, later on, they mysteriously disappeared without fulfilling their promise.

The FIA so far has not disclosed the names of the complainants in the case.

The agency claimed that Muhammad Yameen Qureshi, who was arrested from Bahawalpur, was allegedly involved in a bank fraud and he had got many cheques worth Rs4m encashed fraudulently from different banks.

Meanwhile, Airport Security Force at Multan airport claimed to have recovered six bullets from a driver, Allah Ditta, of wagon (LED-6324), who was allowed to go after submission of an apology along with the production of his arms licence to the authorities at the airport.

RETRIEVED: The divers of emergency rescue service Lodhran on Saturday retrieved, after a 20 hours search, the body of five-year-old Zainab from canal where she had drowned on Friday.

She along with two others was at the canal bank from where she slipped and drowned. The Rescue 1122 divers located her body about three kilometers from the place of her drowning.

ENCOUNTER: A suspected outlaw was killed in firing by his own two accomplices during a ‘shootout’ in Muzaffarabad police precincts, Multan, on Saturday.

Reports said a police patrol signalled three motorcyclists to stop at a picket. But, they allegedly opened firing on police party which was retaliated. After a short while when the shooting stopped, a man identified as Abdullah against whom cases were registered in Qutabpur police station, was found dead. Police seized his motorcycle and registered s case against his two accomplices.

MURDER CASE RESOLVED: Multan police claim to have solved the murder of political activist and university employee, Malik Muhammad Hasnain Bosan, arresting his two teenage friends, identified as Zain and Mohsin.

According to the police, the suspects said they were friends of the deceased, who often spent money on them. On the day of the incident, they met Hasnain Bosan, struck him on the head with clubs, and killed him. Afterwards, they shifted his body on a motorcycle and dumped it in the Tahir Distributary.

The police said the suspects confessed to knowing Hasnain’s ATM card password and allegedly killed him to withdraw money from his bank account. Further investigation is under.
