Eidul Azha on June 7

ISLAMABAD: The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee announced on Tuesday that the moon marking the beginning of Zilhaj 1446 AH was not sighted anywhere across the country.

As a result, the first day of Zilhaj will fall on Thursday (May 29) and Eidul Azha will be observed on Saturday (June 7). The announcement was made by Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad, chairman of the committee, following a meeting held in Islamabad to assess moon-sighting reports.

“Most areas across the country experienced overcast skies today, and no testimony regarding the sighting of the Zilhaj moon was received. Therefore, it has been decided that Eidul Azha will be observed on June 7,” he said.
