KARACHI, May 6: People lit bonfires and staged a sit-in at Sohrab Goth on Saturday on the occasion of funeral of a boy who was killed in violence on Friday.

The residents of Sikandar Goth had staged violent protests on Friday as the city government launched an anti-encroachment drive.

The mourners blocked the main highway and lit bonfires. The angry mob also pelted the moving vehicles with stones.

Heavy contingent of police and other law-enforcement agencies were deployed, who brought the situation under control.—Staff Reporter
