UNITED NATIONS, May 6: The United Nations agency entrusted to help Palestinians refugees lodged a protest on Friday with the Israeli government over closing of access to West Bank and barring its staff from crossing over to Israeli-occupied Al Quds.

The United Nations Relief Agency for Palestinian Refugees Assistance said a four-day closure this week that prevented its West Bank staff from crossing into the holy city, imposed in ‘an unprecedented development’ without official notification.

The UN agency said the Israeli government had failed to officially inform it or other organisations about its decision to impose a general closure from May 1 through May 4.

Scores of workers were denied access to their work places in occupied Al Quds, the UNRWA said.
