RAHIM YAR KHAN: Deputy Superintendent Police (Special Branch) Saifullah Khan Korai died allegedly by suicide on Friday.

Reports said that Korai was posted as the DSP Special Branch a month back. He was at his residence in Basti Korai, Dera Shamas, along the National Highway (N-5) near Iqbalabad when he killed himself with his official gun. His gunman, Irfan, informed the police about the incident by calling police helpline 15.

Korai was considered among very intelligent police officials in the district. Before his posting in Special Branch, he served as DSP Khanpur and as the station house officer (SHO) at different police stations in the district. The reason behind his alleged suicide could not be ascertained but according to a police source, Korai had recently recovered after battling with urinary problems during the last few years.

His post-mortem was underway at the Sheikh Zayed Medical College Hospital (SZMCH) when this report was filed.
