KARACHI: Protesting water crisis, residents of Nusrat Bhutto Colony and North Nazimabad laid siege to the Sakhi Hassan Hydrant on Friday in the Central District.

The protesters were demanding that the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) authorities ensure immediate water supply to their areas.

During the protest, the demonstrators attempted to block the road from Sakhi Hassan Chowrangi to Water Pump. They attempted to setting up barricades and lit fires on the road, prompting local police and Rangers personnel to arrive at the scene.

The Rangers personnel removed the protesters from the road.

Many areas of Karachi faced water crisis after an 84-inch line burst at the University of Karachi last week.

Though the line had been repaired on previous Sunday, the water corporation has failed to restore the water supply to the city.
