The Punjab government has announced the closure of all public and private schools across the province on May 9 (Friday) and May 10 (Saturday), according to a notification issued by Secretary School Education Khalid Nazir Wattoo.

“However, examinations scheduled by/on behalf of International Examining bodies (O Level and A Level) shall continue as scheduled,” the notification said.

“All Chief Executive Officers are directed to ensure compliance with the orders,” it added.

British Council Pakistan has already cancelled GCE, IGCSE, IELTS and University of London exams scheduled for the afternoon session in Lahore across all venues “due to the developing situation”.
