Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rescue 1122’s provincial headquarters has declared a high alert amid the current national situation in light of tensions with India.
A statement issued by the rescue department said a high-level meeting was convened in light of the current emergency situation, and the provincial headquarters has been placed on high alert to ensure “maximum preparedness”.
The statement added that Director General (DG) Shah Fahad announced that a dedicated control room has been established for operational oversight, and all leaves for Rescue 1122 personnel have been cancelled with immediate effect.
Strict directives have been issued to maintain round-the-clock readiness for emergency response.
It further said that all Rescue 1122 officers and staff have been instructed to remain stationed in their respective districts and maintain constant communication with control rooms and field stations.
DG Fahad emphasised that Rescue 1122 directors and regional directors must conduct on-site visits to control rooms and stations, develop detailed emergency response plans and submit these plans to the headquarters for approval.
Furthermore, Rescue 1122 leadership has been directed to maintain close coordination with all relevant line departments and formulate joint strategies to address potential emergencies effectively. These measures aim to mobilise all available resources for the timely delivery of public services during crises, the statement said.
“Our priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens through proactive planning and interdepartmental collaboration. Rescue 1122 stands fully prepared to respond to any emergency,” DG Fahad was quoted as saying.
