LAHORE: The Grand Health Alliance (GDA) Monday announced province-wide road agitations against the outsourcing of the government hospitals of Punjab.

The alliance said that new instructions have been given to take out rallies in the major districts of the province from Tuesday to protest the registration of FIRs and terminations of young doctors and other employees of the government hospitals.

GDA chairman Dr Salman Haseeb announced that the young medics would lead the agitation.

As per the plan, he said, the government employees would take out rallies from their respective teaching and district hospitals.

They would close down the leading roads of their respective jurisdictions/districts for traffic and stage a sit-in there.

He said the Allied Hospital doctors were instructed to block the main roads outside the hospital, the employees of the Sahiwal District Headquarters Hospital would block GT Road and same instructions were issued for the government employees of the hospitals in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, etc.
