KARACHI, May 4: The service structure for Sindh-based paramedical staff has been approved by the provincial health and finance departments and will be submitted to the chief minister in the next few days for final approval.

This was said by the Sindh Health Minister, Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani, on Thursday.

Talking to a delegation of the Sindh Paramedical Staff Welfare Association led by Nazir Ahmed Dheto and Ikhlaq Ahmed, the minister said service structure was the right of the paramedical staff.

He, however, maintained that since their long pending issues had been accepted and materialized, therefore, there was no logic to resort to hunger strike or threaten any protest campaign.

“This would cause serious difficulties to the masses and severe discomfort to the patients,” Qaimkhani said, urging the paramedics to be a little patient as all their genuine demands had been accepted under the forthcoming service structure.—APP
