ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Mini­ster of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed al Nahyan, arrived here on Sunday for a two-day official visit

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sen­ator Ishaq Dar received the UAE Deputy PM at the Islamabad airport.

This high-level visit of the UAE deputy PM refl­ects the deep-rooted, fraternal relations between Pakistan and the UAE, and underscores the two countries’ shared commitment to strengthening bila­teral cooperation acr­oss all areas of mutual interest, Foreign Office spokesperson said in a statement on Sunday.

During his visit, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan will hold talks with the Deputy Prime Min­ister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar.

The entire spectrum of bilateral relations, with particular focus on trade and investment, energy cooperation, regional security and people-to-people linkages will be reviewed during the meeting.

The visit will also provide an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on regional and glo­bal developments of mut­ual interest and concern.

Sheikh Abdullah is also expected to call on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Call with Iranian FM

Meanwhile, FM Dar also spoke with his Iranian counterpart Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Sunday night.

According to a post on the Foreign Office’s X account, the two discussed bilateral relations and reaffirmed their resolve to deepen cooperation. “Regional and global developments of mutual interest were also discussed,” the post said.

In the call, FM Dar expressed the hope that mediation eddorts between the US and Iran will lead to peace, security and development.

DPM, Oman’s FM discuss ties

In a separate development, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Sunday held a telephone call with the Foreign Minister of Oman, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi.

The two leaders reviewed the existing bilateral ties and expressed satisfaction on the upward trajectory of the ties. Regional and international current issues of mutual interest were also discussed.

Rwandan FM arrives

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Rwanda Olivier Jean Patrick Nduhungirehe arrived in Islamabad on Sunday on an official visit.

At the airport, he was received by the DG Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Rwandan High Commissioner in Pakistan and senior officials from MoFA, Pakistan, the Foreign Office spokesperson said.
