Muttahida wins NA-219 by-poll

HYDERABAD, May 2: According to unofficial results of the NA-219 by-poll held here on Tuesday, Muttahida Qaumi Movement candidate Mohammad Pervaiz Qureshi has won the election by securing 84,506 votes against 3,375 polled by People’s Party Parliamentarian’s candidate Ali Mohammad Sehto.

In the 2002 general elections, MQM candidate Professor Khalid Wahab had bagged more than 37,000 votes against around 16,000 votes polled by his MMA rival.
