SHIKARPUR, May 2: A truck-coach collision at Khanpur on Tuesday morning left 16 persons, including the truck driver and cleaners, seriously injured. The truck (C-3355) loaded with onions was on its way to Gujranwala from Dera Murad Jamali when it collided with a Karachi-bound passenger coach (NRB-9385) coming in the opposite direction.

Injured truck driver Nazir Ahmed Awan, cleaners of the truck Sher Zaman and Gul Shahzad, and bus passengers Bahadur Shah, Farhan, Sher Alam, Mohammad Nawaz, Gul Habib, Rehman, Nabi Shah were admitted at Khanpur and Shikarpur hospitals.

Six injured were sent to Larkana hospital in serious condition directly from the spot. His names could not be ascertained.

According to reports, the coach driver fled after the accident.

The Khanpur police have impounded the coach and truck.
