KARACHI: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a suspected militant associated with the outlawed Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA).

The CTD carried out an intelligence-based raid near in Scheme-33 and arrested suspect Sajjad Shar, alias Bablu, with an unlicensed pistol, a press statement said.

The held suspect was a close aide of SRA militants Asghar Ali and Noor Ahmed Chandio.

The CTD alleged that the suspect was planning an attack on a railway track in Bohar Village of Hyderabad district and was waiting for an improvised explosive device.

He was booked in a case under the Sindh Arms Act, 2013, the statement added.
