BAHAWALPUR/RAHIM YAR KHAN: Two Station House Officers of sub-inspector ranks serving in of RY Khan police have been dismissed from service for corruption and having links with Katcha area gangs in kidnap for ransom cases.

Regional Police Officer Bahawalpur Rai Babar Saeed announced the dismissal of Naveed Nawaz Wahla and Saifullah Malhi after an inquiry team led by Muzaffargarh DPO held them guilty. Th inquiry was ordered by AIG South Punjab, Multan.

According to RPO’s orders issued here on Sunday, both would connive with dacoits to identify people for kidnap for ransom It was alleged that both SHOs owned properties including farm houses and land comprising many acres.

They were also charged with staging police encounters to kill those who did not lend them money.

During regular departmental enquiry conducted by the Muzaffargarh DPO, SI Naveed Wahla was also found guilty of violating the media policy and threatening a respected citizen.

In addition, he used inappropriate and disrespectful language against local MPA Mumtaz Ahmad Chang on social media from his personal account.

Furthermore, he failed to comply with the orders of the competent authority as he did not report his arrival at South Punjab, Multan, following his transfer/closure order. Subsequently, he was again relieved from South Punjab, Multan, with directions to report to the RPO Office, Bahawalpur.

However, he once again failed to comply and remained absent from duty without any intimation.

Sl Malhi was also found guilty of abusing his official position in the arrest of a woman
