LANDI KOTAL (Khyber Agency), May 1: A tribesman was killed on Monday when he resisted his arrest by the Bara political authorities under the Collective Territorial Responsibility Clause of the Frontier Crimes Regulation.

The Khasadar force barricaded the Bara-Kalakhel road and started arresting Kalakhel residents after receiving reports about abduction of three tribesmen by a gang of kidnappers.

The khasadar force resorted to firing when a Kalakhel resident, Rasool Khan, resisted his arrest. He died on the spot.

Later the Kalakhel villagers blocked the Kohat-Peshawar road to protest the killing of Rasool Khan. The road was cleared after the local administration assured that the the Bara political authorities will look into the matter.

Earlier, kidnappers abducted Wazir Khan, his brother and his nephew to press the local administration for the release of Payo Noor, alias Kharh Payo.
