PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf central secretary information Sheikh Waqas Akram on Monday said that they were not allowed to meet incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan in jail despite court orders.

Speaking at a press conference, he said that courts should ensure implementation of their decisions otherwise people would lose confidence in judiciary.

He said that social media activists of PTI were arrested for committing no crime. “Now the arrested social media activist is not even being presented in court. This will increase hatred. If they have committed any crime, they should be presented in court so that they can defend themselves,” he said.

Mr Akram said that such measures were not sending a good message. If the arrested people had committed any crime, then the evidence should be presented before the nation, he added.

He said that five to 50 percent taxes were being imposed on farmers. “PTI’s stance about government’s anti-farmer policy is clear. We oppose these taxes because it is anti-farmers,” he said.
