KARACHI: After over five years of normalisation, there is finally a date for the elections of the Pakistan Football Federation.

The FIFA-appointed Normalisation Committee on Sunday announced that the PFF Elective Congress will be held on May 20, with the electoral process beginning from Monday with the submission of candidatures for the executive committee of the country’s football governing body.

The NC, which was appointed in September 2019 and has gone through four different iterations, had already announced the election rules.

There is a 10-day period for the submission of the candidatures with a week’s time for scrutiny. Four days have been reserved for appeals with another two days for decisions on them.

The official list of candidates will be announced on April 30 and they will have a period of 19 days for campaigning before the election.
