JAMSHORO: The Sindh Textbook Board (STBB) on Saturday launched the first phase of the process of distributing over five million textbooks among students for academic year 2025-26.

In a statement issued here, Sindh Minister for Education Syed Sardar Ali Shah said at a ceremony held to mark the launch of the books’ distribution at the Sindh Textbook Board offices in Jamshoro that over five million sets of textbooks would be prepared according to number of enrolment, which would ensure timely delivery of books and contribute to an effective academic process.

STBB Chairman Parvez Ahmed Baloch handed over the textbooks to taluka education officers of Manjhand, Thano Bula Khan and Sehwan of Jamshoro district for distribution among primary schools. The distribution of books to secondary schools would begin next week.

The board had formed several monitoring committees to make the process smoother and more effective. The committees would visit schools to ensure the books had been delivered to students, said the handout.

The minister said the book banks established in public schools last year would help ensure availability of textbooks in schools.
