SAHIWAL: Ahmedyar Police of district Pakpattan recovered a 10th class student who was kidnapped for ransom on March 10 from Chak 113/EB, tehsil Arifwala, and arrested his five kidnappers.

The police also recovered Rs100,000 ransom amount from the kidnappers and arrested their collaborator, Ali Husnain, a resident of the same village.

Pakpattan District Police Officer Javed Iqbal toldDawnthe four kidnappers were arrested from Yousfwala, district Sahiwal.

Touseef Arshad, son of Muhammad Irshad, a local landlord, was kidnapped by four armed men from home when he was alone with his mother. Touseef ‘s mother resisted but she was critically injured by the kidnappers.

Ahmedyar police registered an FIR on the compliant of Arshad against four unidentified persons. On March 20, the kidnappers demanded Rs2m ransom from the family for releasing the boy.

The family took police on board. The final deal was done for Rs100,000. Police recorded all movements and other telephonic conversations done to make deal final.

The ransom amount was paid and the boy was released at Yousafwal, district Sahiwal.

The police launched action after the boy was reunited with the family. Through the GPS location, the police first traced Ali Husnain, the collaborator, and later on four kidnappers.
