ISLAMABAD: A doctor of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) has written a letter to the prime minister urging him to remand back the recommendation for the Central Selection Board (CSB) regarding promotion in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).

Dr Majida Zafar, in her application available with Dawn, alleged that Professor of Gynaecology Dr Nosheela Amjad has been considered for the post against the law as she did not meet the mandatory requirements.

Applicant has alleged that Dr Nosheela lacked mandatory experience and claimed that there was pending litigation over the subject. She alleged that there were procedural malpractices in CSB proceedings such as agenda item altered at the 11th hour and working papers manipulated.

Dr Majida Zafar has requested to refer back Dr Nosheela’s case to the CSB for reconsideration.

However, Dr Nosheela Amjad, while talking to Dawn, said that she was fulfiling merit and providing quality treatment to patients in the MCH which was not acceptable to some doctors.

“The CSB has recommended my promotion in BPS-20 and PM can sign it anytime. A group of doctors is trying to reverse the decision and that is why it has moved the application. Earlier they filed similar applications in the ministry but could not prove any flaw at my end,” she said.
