TOBA TEK SINGH, April 30: A girl was run over and killed by a train before which her father pushed her at Chak 377-JB, Jhanwan, on Sunday. According to reports, Manzoor Ahmad took his 18-year-old daughter Tahira Perveen with him to the town for shopping. Reaching a level crossing near Chak 296-GB, he allegedly pushed his daughter on the railway track on which she was crushed to death.

On receiving information, the railway police took Manzoor into custody and he pleaded guilty with the claim that they were crossing the track to see his relatives but she herself jumped before the train.

KILLED: A youth died and two others injured when a speeding tractor-trolley hit them near Arouti on Sunday.

Reports said Hammad Raza and his relatives Atif and Zahid, residents of Mauza Shahpur, were on their way to village on their motorcycle when a tractor-trolley knocked them down.

Hammad died on the spot while his relatives suffered serious injuries and were hospitalised.
