KARACHI: A suspected robber was shot dead by his accomplice during a robbery while the one who opened fire was severely beaten by an angry mob in Khawaja Ajmer Nagri on Thursday evening, police said.

They added that the public apprehended two muggers during a robbery near Al-Afar Residency. One of the suspects resorted to firing in an attempt to flee but a bullet hit his own accomplice. Moreover, the mob started beating the suspect who opened fire. As a result, he was badly injured.

The body and injured were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The deceased was identified as Bilal and injured as Jehangir.

The police claimed to have recovered two pistols and one motorcycle from their custody.
