PESHAWAR: Unidentified persons looted cash van of a local bank in Nishtarabad area in the jurisdiction of Hashtnagri police station here on Monday, officials said.

They said that an investigation had been launched into the incident.

SSP operations Masood Bangash said that the bank claimed that Rs30 million were looted from the cash van. He added that CCTV footage had been obtained to probe the case.

He also said that geo-fencing was being done, and a list of suspected gangs compiled. He said that raids would be conducted after the list was completed.

Mr Bangash, however, said that the bank and the cash van did not follow the standard operating procedures. “A meeting will be held with the bank management to ascertain further details,” SSP Bangash said.
