In a joint statement, France, Germany and the UK expressed deep concern over the renewed Israeli attacks on Gaza, calling them a “dramatic step backward” for the people of Gaza and the captives held in the besieged territory, Al Jazeera reports.

“We are appalled by the civilian casualties and urgently call for an immediate return to a ceasefire,” the statement by the three nations said.

The three nations urged all parties involved to return to negotiations.

“More bloodshed is in no one’s interest. Israel should fully respect international law and allow aid to flow immediately,” they said.
