The military’s Arabic language spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, has renewed a call for residents in a number of neighbourhoods in eastern Gaza to urgently flee, Al Jazeera reports.

The designated areas are Beit Hanoon, Khirbet Khuza’a, Abasan al-Kabira and Abasan al-Jadida.

Issuing the warning for a second day in a row, Adraee said civilians who stay in these areas are putting their lives at risk. He instructed them to head to shelters in western Gaza City or Khan Younis.

However, Al Jazeera‘s Hind Khoudary, reporting from Gaza’s Deir el-Balah, says many Palestinians are opting not to evacuate from their neighbourhoods this time, as they have nowhere to go and they have “nothing left to lose”.
