Since Friday, Gaza’s civil defence agency has been recovering the bodies of Palestinians buried on al-Shifa hospital’s grounds throughout the conflict, Al Jazeera reports.

They have estimated that as many as 160 bodies may be buried in the yard of the Gaza City hospital, which was one of the largest medical complexes in the enclave. It has been largely destroyed amid repeated Israeli attacks and raids.

Palestinian Civil Defence said that of the 57 bodies recovered today, 40 remained unidentified. A total of 135 bodies have so far been recovered.
