The Rafah Municipality in southern Gaza has announced that fuel supplies to all water wells in the city have been halted due to the continued Israeli blockade and the closure of crossings, Al Jazeera reports.
The municipality warned of disastrous consequences of the well shutdown, which threatens the lives of thousands and exacerbates the health and environmental crisis.
“We are facing an uncontainable humanitarian disaster due to the cessation of water wells in the city,” it added.
