PESHAWAR: Khyber Medical University (KMU) on Monday hosted HULT Prize 2025 Campus Competition wherein 21 emerging startups showcased their creativity and entrepreneurial skills.

The competition served as a dynamic platform for young business minds, enabling them to present sustainable business models aimed at tackling global challenges. One of the standout participants was NOEL Synce, founded by KMU student Noel Ameeq, whose innovative ideas and forward-thinking approach greatly impressed the audience, said a statement.

The event featured an exchange of dynamic and creative ideas, proving that young entrepreneurs could play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the medical sector and other industries. The competition was presided over by KMU Vice-chancellor Prof Ziaul Haq while the additional secretary of higher education department, Javed Iqbal, and the deputy secretary, Rahmat Wazir, attended the event as guests of honour.

In his concluding remarks, Prof Ziaul Haq expressed his gratitude to the panel of judges for their valuable insights and expertise. The judging panel included Engineer Mohammad Haroon Nawaz, Dr Syed Tauqeer Hussain Shah, Dr Sohaib Ali and Dr Ibrahim Afridi.

Prof Zia reaffirmed KMU’s commitment to supporting young entrepreneurs in transforming their ideas into impactful and viable projects. He particularly highlighted the role of KMU Business Incubation Centre (KUBIC), which serves as a model for other institutions to emulate. He stated that the prize competition reflected KMU’s dedication to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable development.

During the event, Wasimul Haq, the programme manager of KUBIC, and Fazal Subhan, the national coordinator of HULT Prize Pakistan, were lauded for their remarkable efforts in organising the competition.

Prior to the competition, all participating startups attended a three-day entrepreneurship workshop and boot camp. This training provided participants with essential guidance and skill-building opportunities, enabling them to refine their business models and enhance their entrepreneurial expertise.
