KARACHI: A trailer ran over and killed a motorcyclist in Liaquatabad in the early hours of Sunday morning, police said.

Central SSP Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqi said that a 50-year-old man was riding a motorcycle when a 16-wheeler trailer (TLA-142) hit him near Erum Bakery, Liaquatabad No 4.

The man suffered critical injuries and was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

The officer said that the identity of the deceased could not be ascertained till late in the night.

The tragic accident angered area people, who attempted to set the heavy vehicle on fire. However, the police rushed to the scene and prevented them from torching the trailer.
