PESHAWAR: Cantonment Board Peshawar has decided to launch a major operation against ‘permanent’ encroachments.

According to a statement issued here on Friday, an operation against temporary encroachments was launched on Feb 19 and now an operation against permanent encroachments would be started.

It stated that permanent encroachments, including structures and obstacles on roads and streets of Peshawar cantonment would be removed to provide better facilities to the citizens.

The operation was launched following the instructions of the director general military lands and cantonments (DGML&C) department and its daily monitoring was being conducted by the CEO Cantonment Board Peshawar himself.

CEO Chaudhry Babar Hussain said, “Cantonment Board Peshawar has always taken steps to improve the convenience and living standards of its citizens, and the aim of this operation is to provide better facilities to the citizens.”

“Through this operation, CBP will remove all types of illegal encroachments within the boundaries of the cantonment so that the public can get a safe, clean and well-maintained environment,” he added.
