LAHORE: A pair of handcuffed suspects facing charges of double murder escaped police custody on Tuesday from the sessions court.

The police brought the suspects – Sher Zaman and Hamza – to the court for their production before an additional district & sessions judge.

After their appearance before the court, the police personnel were taking the suspects to bakhshi khana (lock-up on court premises) in handcuffs when they fled the custody.

The police immediately closed all the entrance and exit points of the sessions court, but the suspects managed to escape.

The complainant party alleged that the police officials helped the suspects flee the court.
