SWABI: In a gory incident, a man slaughtered his four minor children and later committed suicide here on Thursday, the police and rescue officials said.

When contacted, SHO Yar Hussain police station Abdul Wali Khan said that when they reached the house, the dead bodies were lying in a pool of blood inside a room.

The neighbours of Saifullah Islam (father of the children) said that the man was a tailor and was living a peaceful life with his family but a few days back he had a clash with his wife over some domestic issue. The annoyed wife went to her parents house, leaving all the children with Saifullah, one of the neighbours said.

He added that two days ago after failing to bring his wife back, he sent his two-year-old daughter through a relative to his in-laws, but the wife returned the child.

The neighbours said that it was difficult for Saifullah to take care of the four children leading him to commit the crime.

The five persons were identified as Saiful Islam,42, Ziaul Islam, 12, Abdul Rahman, 10,Sana Islam, 8, and a two-year-old daughter.

All were later buried in Yar Hussain graveyard.

Meanwhile, unidentified persons killed a political worker of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf at Mall Lar on Swabi-Jehangira Road on Thursday, the police said.

Bakhtiar Ali, the victim’s brother, while filing an FIR in Swabi city police station said that he was busy at home when he heard heavy gunfire outside. He rushed out only to find that his brother had been shot dead by unknown assailants.

The police have registered an FIR and started investigation.

Also in the day, a 56-year-old resident of Tord her died in a road accident, rescue officials said.

The victim identified as Salim Khan was run over by a dumper truck.

Also in the day, dead body of a young girl was found on the service road of the Motorway in the limits of the Lahor city police station on Thursday.

SHO Gohar Khan said the victim was brutally murdered by unknown persons.
