BAHAWALPUR: With the death of two more victims at the burn unit of the Nishtar Hospital, Multan, on Monday the number of total deaths in the LPG container’s explosion rose to 18.

The hospital and police sources identified the deceased as Muhammad Ramzan (25) and Halima Bibi, the wife of Zafar, who were under-treatment at the intensive care unit. It may be recalled there are still 20 persons burnt in the incident in Multan who are getting treatment in the hospital’s burn unit.

ARRESTED: The Sahooka Police Station in district Vehari arrested the prime suspect Seth Amir Chahwaliana of a beggars’ gang who used to force children into beggary.

Police recovered four children, namely Abdullah, Abu Bakr, Muhammad Zubair and Muhammad Sajjad, from his illegal custody and they were being forced by him to beg alms at Baba Haji Sher Diwan Darbar, Machiwal.

Amir’s arrest was made on the orders of Vehari District Police Officer Mansoor Aman who received complaints against the suspect. Police also recovered from his possession heavy amount and mobile sets According to police, Amir Chahwaliana admitted during interrogation that he was forcing teenagers in Faisalabad, Sargodha and other several cities to do beggary.
