LAHORE: The ICC Champions Trophy trophy began the second leg of its Pakistan tour on Saturday with a trip to Sheikhupura’s historical Hiran Minar complex, according to details provided by the country’s cricket board.

During this leg, the trophy will be taken to 10 different cities across the country in 14 days, said the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The global trophy tour ahead of the Champions Trophy began in Pakistan on Nov 16 after which the trophy was taken to the seven participating countries from Nov 26 to Jan 26.

In its second leg, apart from Sheikhupura, the trophy will be taken to Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar and Quetta.

The trophy will also grace the newly upgraded Gaddafi Stadium here on Feb 9 during the tri-nation series opening match between Pakistan and New Zealand.

Some of the iconic destinations where the trophy will be taken to during these 14 days include the Multan Fort, Bahawalpur’s Noor Mahal, Peshawar’s Arbab Niaz Stadium, Karachi’s National Bank Stadium, Hyderabad’s Niaz Stadium and Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium.

The trophy tour will conclude in Karachi on Feb 14. The opening match of the Champions Trophy is set to take place between hosts Pakistan and New Zealand five days later.
