NAWABSHAH: Shaheed Benazirabad antiterrorism court on Friday remanded nine suspects in Sanghar killings case for five days in police custody and summoned Sanghar SSP to appear in court on Feb 5.

They were nominated in the case of murder of three men in a clash between two groups of Junejo community in Jani Junejo village in the jurisdiction of Chotiaryun police station, Sanghar district, on Jan 25 over trespassing of cattle into a field

The suspects Mohammed Sharif Rajar, Obhayo Rajar, Saddam Hussain Rajar, Ahmed Rajar, Khan Rajar, Sadiq Jatoi, Mohammad Ali Jatoi and others were produced in the court in tight security.

The investigating officer of the case informed the judge Abdul Ghaffar Kalhoro about progress on the probe by Joint Investigation Team formed by Sanghar SSP Ghulam Nabi Keerio when the suspects were produced before him.

The judge rejected the JIT and issued a notice to the SSP summoning him to the court on Feb 6. Only the provincial home department was authorised to form the JIT, the judge remarked.

The family members of the victims had been demanding FIR against PPP MNA Salahuddin aka Allauddin Junejo.
