WASHINGTON: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been invited to a meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House on Feb 4, the premier’s office said in a statement on Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump had said Netanyahu would travel “very soon” to Washington to meet him, but did not say when the meeting would take place.
The White House said Trump extended an invitation to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to meet at the White House early next week. “Details on the date and time will follow when finalised.”
The meeting is set to take place amid a fragile six-week ceasefire that has brought a temporary pause to 15 months of strife in Gaza.
