PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Anti-Corruption Establishment on Wednesday arrested former Lower Dir deputy commissioner for his alleged involvement in corruption and misuse of authority.

A statement issued from the office of the chief minister’s adviser on anti-corruption Brig retired Musaddiq Abbasi, said that an inquiry was initiated upon complaints on irregularities in the construction of Levies Line in the district.

It said that the inquiry revealed corruption in funds and misuse of authority, causing a loss of over Rs5.5 million to the government treasury.

The statement added that following findings, the ACE registered an FIR against the former deputy commissioner of Lower Dir. It also said that the accused had been arrested.
