KARACHI: Asad Zaman continued his strong run to defeat Taimoor Ansari 6-2, 6-2 in the second round of the boys Under-18 match at the Ghazi & Magsi National Juniors and Seniors Tennis Championship here at the Modern Club on Tuesday.

Joining him in the next round are Nabeel Qayum, who outclassed Laraib Shamsi 6-1, 6-0 and Amir Mazari, who eased past Junaid Muhammad with a 6-2, 6-0 win. Meanwhile, Ruhab Faisal showcased his dominance defeating Muneer Derbari 6-2, 6-0, Muzammil Bhand overcame Hazik Areejo 6-2, 6-4 while Junaid Meher outplayed Fawaz Tahir 6-3, 6-2. Muhammad Salar completed the lineup with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 victory against Ahsan Ahmed.

In the boys Under-14 second round, Ali Bachani overcame a tough challenge from Arsh Imran to secure a 3-5, 4-2, 4-1 victory while Yahya Haleem also moved forward with a 4-1, 2-4, 4-1 win over Tariq Rafi.

The boys Under-12 first round witnessed Keeyan Bus defeating M. Ayan Essa Jee 4-2, 4-1.

Asad Zaman continued his winning streak in the men’s second round, securing a dominant 8-0 win against Salman Tahir while Ismail Aftab and Muneer Derbari also achieved significant victories, defeating Shahmeer Usman and Rayyan Ahmed with scores of 8-0 and 8-3, respectively. Taimoor Ansari advanced after Hazik Areejo retired at 3-0 and Muhammad Salar earned an effortless 8-0 victory against Faiz Ilyas.
