QUETTA, April 19: Law-enforcement agencies have arrested two suspected saboteurs when they were unlocking fish plates of the Sibi-Harnai railway track on Wednesday while an attempt to derail two Quetta- bound passenger trains were foiled in Jaffarabad area.

Official sources said two persons identified as Lal Mohammad and Abdul Hayee were trying to open fish plates near Babar Kach area of the Sibi-Harnai section. Law-enforcement personnel rushed to the site and arrested both of them and seized instruments they were using.

Meanwhile, railway staff foiled an attempt to derail the Quetta-bound Jaffar and Quetta Express as five fish plates of the main railway track had been opened between Jacobabad and Dera Allah Yar area.

The railway staff found five plates of the main railway opened during checking of the track near Dera Allah Yar before the arrival of the passenger trains.

Both trains were stopped at Jacobabad Railway station after receiving information about the subversion act. Later the track was repaired and both trains reached Quetta safely.

ROCKETS: Meanwhile, eight rockets were fired at FC check posts in Loti and Dera Bugti areas. Sources said that five rockets were fired at a check post in Loti, while three others landed close to Dera Bugti. No casualty was reported.
