TAXILA: Police on Tuesday arrested four suspects whose alleged blackmailing, extortion and threats to viral a young man’s video on social media led to his death in the limits of Pindigheb police of Attock.

The victim was the lone brother of five sisters and married about a month ago.

Mohammad Sabir reported to the police on January 6 that his son Mohammad Ramzan committed suicide after being blackmailed by Ishtiaq, Zakir, Qasim and Khizer, residents of Jand.

The victim told his father that the four persons continued blackmailing him and also extorted money from him on the threat of uploading his video on social media.

They also came to his house to extort money and to get rid of their extortion and blackmailing, he committed suicide.

Police registered a case against the suspects under section 322, 384, 506 and 34 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and on Tuesday arrested them.

Meanwhile, an eight-year-old boy was sexually assaulted by a man in village Boota in the limits of Attock Saddar police station on Tuesday.

A resident reported to the police that his nephew went to the nearby woods for herding goats where a man forcefully took him to a nearby hill and sexually assaulted him.

After conducting medical examination, which confirmed the assault, the police registered a case against the suspect and launched further investigations.
