BAJAUR: Senior officials of the district administration and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Foundation (PKHF) on Tuesday promised to provide all the missing facilities at the Category-D Hospital in Pashat area of Salarzai tehsil here.

It is to mention here that the hospital has been running under the public-private partnership for the last three years. The hospital’s gynaecology room and X-Ray machine have long been lying non-functional, troubling patients.

The officials visited the hospital to check the availability of facilities there, according to a statement.

The visiting officials included additional deputy commissioner (planning and finance) Hamza Zahoor, Khar assistant commissioner Dr Sadiq Ali and monitors of KPHF.

The statement, issued from the deputy commissioner’s office, said that the officials inspected the out-patient department, emergency, gynaecology wards, labour room, laboratories, operation theatre, male and female medical and surgical wards, X-Ray room, blood bank, medicines store, dental unit and ultrasound room.

During the visit, which was conducted in response to the residents’ complaints over lack of facilities at the hospital, the officials said that provision of all the required facilities and staff at the hospital would be ensured as it catered to the health needs of over 350,000 people of the region.

The statement said the hospital’s management on the occasion briefed the visiting officials about the designated and missing facilities.
