KARACHI: Favourite thoroughbred filly Sincere Approach obliged all and sundry registering an authoritative 10 lengths victory over stablemate filly Wonder Woman in the 2000 Guineas of Pakistan in the Gymkhana race here at the Karachi Racecourse on Saturday.

In a repeat finish, the winning horse justified her billing by completing a hat-trick with Sohail Ahmed in the saddle. She clocked one minute and 44 seconds in the race ran over a mile.

Another two stablemate fillies — Dangerous Intention and Rock N Wild — occupied the next two slots on board, respectively among half-a-dozen contenders.

With the exception of the first and last race, favourites swept the remaining races in an eight-race card.

Riders Sohail Ahmed (Flirty Kiss, Prince William and Sincere Approach) and Mumraiz Khan (Thunder Boy, Ex Gambler and Punch Line) excelled in their cadre with hat-tricks apiece. Another rider Bilal Ahmed ended with a brace (Kuwait Honey and Kuwait Lady).

Trainer Mohyuddin partnered five winners while owner Syed Sibghatullah Shah Pir Pagara celebrated the day with a treble.

With a win already under his belt, thoroughbred colt Prince William made his mark galloping to a facile five lengths victory over colt Koh-I-Noor to annex the Nursery Cup. He returned home in one minute and 19 seconds in the six furlongs race.

Filly Queen’s Jewel grabbed third place while colt Proud Rebel completed the quartet in a field of six horses.

The X-MAS Cup ended in a blaze of glory for filly Punch Line who atoned for her previous loss while imposing to an eight lengths victory over chestnut horse Mr Magic. She returned home in one minute and 16 seconds for six furlongs.

Bay horse Pedro had to be content with third place and was followed by colt Trevor.

As expected, colt Ex Gambler stretched his winning run by getting the better of filly Cheer Leader by three-and-a-quarter lengths to win the Managing Committee Cup in 0.56 seconds.

Colt Thunder Boy upstaged colt Mark My Words by four lengths to win the Secretary Cup. He clocked 0.57 seconds for four-and-a-half furlongs.

Filly Flirty Kiss was on song as she opened her account registering a splendid 10 lengths victory over bay horse Do It in 0.56 seconds.

Stable mate mares Kuwait Honey and Kuwait Lady created quite a stir lowering the colours of public fancy horses — No Bargaining and Polite Applause — respectively.
