PESHAWAR, April 16: A woman and her son were killed allegedly by a close relative in Abdara locality here on Sunday, police said. Humayun, relative of the deceased, reported at the Pishtakhara police that Mushtaq had a quarrel with his first cousin Tufail over a minor issue near their houses.

Later, he alleged that Mushtaq, carrying a pistol, entered the house of Tufail and opened fire on him and his mother, Mughfari, killing them on the spot.

He escaped after the double murder and police have registered an FIR.

Meanwhile, a former policeman was killed allegedly by his opponents in Shadbagh Colony of the Yakatoot area.

Jehanzeb told police that his father, Ilyas Bacha, was passing through a road in Shadbagh Colony when Amirzada and Ibrahim shot him dead.

Police have registered a case.

HEROIN SEIZED: The Anti-Narcotics Force foiled an attempt to smuggle 3.4kgs of heroin abroad and arrested a Nigerian woman at Peshawar international airport on Sunday.

According to an official statement, the woman, carrying three cartons of bangles, came to the departure launch to get a flight to Dubai.

An ANF team on suspicion checked her cartons and recovered the heroin from their secret cavities.

The accused, Adijan Bolaji, hailing from Lagos, Nigeria, was arrested.

According to the statement, she told her interrogators that she had come to Pakistan with another foreigner who handed her over the heroin ‘in Faisalabad’ to take it to a foreign country.

That man promised her to pay $2000, she added.

The Punjab branch of the Anti-Narcotics Force has been informed about the main accused.
